I knew I was going to like I, Synthesist when I first read about sole member Chris Ianuzzi’s first experience with electronic music: “the sound of a Moog synthesizer at a music store triggered an earlier childhood hallucinogenic memory first experienced during a dental procedure.” I liked I, Synthesist even more when I heard the music. With comparisons ranging from Gary Numan, Kraftwerk, early Ultravox and Fad Gadget, it’s little surprise to learn that Ianuzzi has an impressive electronic music resume, having studied and worked with some of the biggest names including Vangelis and former members of Tangerine Dream. A little bit synthpop, a little bit EBM and a whole lot of something truly unique, "Avalanche" is one of the sharpest electro releases of the year. (Amber Hastings, FIEND Magazine)
