Whilst on the European tour in 2004, we used the track for our encore, and it was always met with great applause... that sealed it's fate.
The track thumps with a huge kick and bass which will make your body move of its own accord. The pads and strings lift the simple and memorale chorus to an anthemic like high, as the track continues to escallate to its end.
Remixes:
Terrorfakt brings his own style to the track, crunchier, harder, better. I love this remix for its instrumental approach, the kick that hits you in the face, and distorted precussion. Atop of this Ben layers the tracks pads keeping it true to the original idea of ANGELTHEORY, harsh beats, lush pads.
Black Selket, an unsigned artist from Holland delivers a futurepop/trance remix which had an interesting birth. Originally 2 seperate remixes, we edited them together, to get the best of both mixes. He has done a fine job here and keeps the track intact.
Daniel Myer adds his vey own style to the track with his remix. Being a huge Myer fan of all his projects, this was a real treat when he agreed to contribute. The track itself is Myer at his experimental finest. Lots of space, complex sounds interwine, with that hint of atmosphere that he always provides to Haujobb tracks..
Lights Of Euphoria provide the most guilty pleasure remix of all. It's a late 90's style hard techno track that oozes glow sticks and memories of going to raves in days gone by. This was a genius idea of Torbens to have this approach as I feel it really gives the EP yet another dimension. Which is what I want most with my Eps. Not a hand full of similar remixes, but different styles and aproaches to suit every mood.
In addition to the remixes there are 3 new bonus tracks.... whats an EP without bonus stuff?
Firstly “She Echoes” finally gets to find its place on a release. I struggled to find a place for this great track on the first two releases, but after such a great response to the track with every live show, this track just wasnt going to wait any longer. This track orignally written back in 2002, has been re-recorded and taken on a life of its own.....play loud folks !
“Possession” is a track from the forth coming album, here is a remix by Tankt. Eeire, cold, isolation..... damm yes ! This is one fine remix, that i am just in awe of. Tankt have taken the original, stripped it bare and dressed it up in fine sounds that will spook the hell out of you. Turn off the lights, put on the headphones.. and prepare yourself.
Finally the cover version of “Theme For Great Cities”. The original was done by Simple Minds in what I reckon was their finest period. This version maintains the tension and atmosphere of the original, and adds the typical ANGELTHEORY traits. This is a great instrumental track that seen a few trance artists tackle, and here is the first EBM version.
Clocking just under 49 minutes, this is a great companion CD to the forthcoming “re-possession” album.
